Longevity, at the tempo of a decade.

Notes on a private practice — and on the discipline of writing about it without overclaiming.

Longevity is the most over promised field I read in. It is also the field I am most personally invested in. Both things are true at the same time, and the discipline of writing about it is keeping them in honest relation.

A few principles I work to, before any sentence about the body gets published here.

I write the log, not the result. Where I am running an experiment on myself — a training block, a sleep window, a single named intervention under clinical supervision — the entry is dated, the duration is named, the instrument is named, and the supervisor is named at least by role.

“The miracle is rarely the protocol. It is more often the patience.”

I refuse the universalising sentence. The phrase “this might work for you too” does not appear here. Where I have noticed something in my own n=1 record, I say so in the voice of someone who has noticed it.

I name nothing I have not used under supervision. Compound names appear in two contexts only: in a citation to a peer reviewed source, or inside a personal log entry that has been read by a Singapore licensed clinician before publication.

I admit, in writing, what I do not know. Regenerative medicine is moving quickly. Gene therapies are moving quickly. The honest position is to track the field with respect, cite the people doing the science, and refuse the temptation to sound certain about therapies that are five years from being well understood.
